Spring Break and the Grand Canyon

The Wild West
Welcome to the American West, a land of wide-open spaces, stunning landscapes, friendly people, and one of the country’s most iconic landmarks, the Grand Canyon. A home to Native Americans for centuries, a fearsome barrier to the West for American frontiersmen, and a place of inspiration for countless artists, writers and naturalists, the mountains and deserts of Northern Arizona are simply stunning. Today they are home to a unique fusion of cultures, a spicy traditional cuisine, and timeless beauty. Spend your spring break exploring one of America’s greatest natural wonders and giving back to a deserving local community!

Service by the Canyon
Get to know the local people as you spend time at a community center working with disadvantaged youth. Read with the children, share in fun games, and work in the center’s garden. You will also teach the kids how to cook nutritious meals using fresh local ingredients, and your efforts will help empower them to make healthy food choices throughout their lives. You may even learn a thing or two about where your own food comes from! When the work is done, take a bike ride along the stunning South Rim of the Grand Canyon and let yourself be swept away by the immense landscapes and the sheer size of this great chasm. Explore old Western towns along historic Route 66, shop for Native American arts and crafts, and ride on horseback through the enchanting Sonoran Desert. Come discover the rich diversity of the West and explore a spectacular corner of the United States.
