The Temple House

The Temple House was completed in mid-February, 2007 and brings the total number of bedrooms at The Ricefields Base to 22 en-suite rooms. The Temple House has a connecting walkway which joins it to The Buddha House. Both houses were updated in early 2007 and antiques from the owner of Rustic Pathways were added to the rooms. Artwork, recycled teak, and old photos from Thailand, Laos, Burma, and Cambodia are featured throughout both houses. The Temple House and The Buddha House are connected to The Elephant House, The Gym, and The Sala, and the Family Houses by a lighted walkway which winds across the Base and through the Lotus Ponds. All construction was done by local craftsmen and women - most of them from our host village. The finished Temple House was blessed by 13 monks from our local temple and dedicated in February, 2007. One further house nearby to The Temple House will be completed in May, 2007 adding an additional eight bedrooms and bathrooms to The Ricefields Base.
