GAP FOR GOOD
Gap for Good is a series of community service based programs that allow students to live and work in communities where Rustic Pathways has long standing ties and a year round presence. Unlike Scheduled Gap programs, these no-frills programs are not guided trips with itineraries. Students have the support of our local and in-country staff and a simple orientation to familiarize them with the local people they will be working with as they carry out their service work. These programs are best suited toward self-motivated, responsible students who can work independently and have spent time away from home and family before. Advantages of Gap for Good include:
- Come when you want to, stay as long as you like, leave when you want to.
- Connect Gap for Good service work with any of our Scheduled Gap or Custom Gap trips for a very well rounded and affordable Gap Year.
- Become part of the community by staying in one place for an extended time, living as locals do, and learning more about the culture than more fast-moving trips would allow.
- Gap for Good programs are very inexpensive – cheaper than living in most American cities!
- You will have a chance to design and carry out your own projects if you wish, or you can use this project board to find one or more projects that are right for you.
On this bulletin board, you’ll find one-day, short term, and longer term service projects that are waiting for volunteers. Mouse over each posting to get more info, and then click on the pop-up window to get the lowdown on exactly where they take place and what other projects are happening at that location.
Gap for Good program prices include comfortable sleeping quarters and two simple meals each day.
