Learn to Dive in Fiji

Comprised of 330 islands scattered across the tranquil South Pacific, Fiji is one of the world’s premier diving locations. You will obtain your PADI open-water scuba certification while swimming among a host of beautiful coral and colorful fish in crystal-clear waters. The Fiji archipelago is the third-largest reef system in the world and is home to warm waters, gentle currents, extremely friendly locals, and countless dive sites. You’ve picked the perfect place to learn to dive!

A Time to Learn
You’ll earn your PADI open-water scuba certification while enjoying the best diving in the South Pacific. During the week-long course, you’ll split your time between our beautiful Momi Bay Eco-Lodge and a small dive resort, where you’ll complete daily dive classes and receive instruction. When you’re not busy learning to scuba dive, you’ll have the chance to hike through the Fijian countryside, swim off golden South Seas beaches, and get to know the welcoming Fijians.

Fish, Fins and Fun
You’ll explore your new underwater world with a small group of fellow students. You’ll learn together and receive personal dive instruction from our team of local Fijians and Rustic Pathways staff members. Your instructors will be experienced divers who are familiar with dive sites in Fiji and around the world. They’ll happily introduce you to this new underwater wonderland. During the week you may explore many of the renowned dive sites situated off the west coast of Viti Levu, including Rainbow Cascade, Canyons, the Cathedral, and Fish Wonders.

Life on Shore
Above the surface, you’ll have the chance to enjoy optional activities that will introduce you to Fijian culture, open your eyes to this beautiful country, and let you relax under the sun. You can hop on a boat and explore the beautiful Mamanuca Islands, head into Nadi for a lesson in bargaining at the colorful markets, journey to traditional villages in Fiji’s hinterland, or relax along miles of spectacular South Seas coastline. You’ll balance your time diving with time enjoying activities on land for the perfect mix of sea, sand, and welcoming Fijian culture.

Everyone is Welcome
You can join our Learn to Dive in Fiji program even if you’ve never pulled on flippers. No previous certification or experience is necessary, but you will be required to attend regular classes and scheduled dives throughout the week in order to obtain your certification. Before you leave for Fiji, you’ll need to take a trip to your family doctor to make sure you’re asthma-free, in good health, and physically able to take on a scuba diving course.

Combine this trip with Marine and Environmental Monitoring for an intense aquatic adventure that will have you gliding through the waters of Fiji like a pro in no time. This 17-day combination trip is an action-packed underwater adventure that is perfect for those interested in the marine environment.
