Airfare Information

You are responsible for making all of your flight arrangements. Rustic Pathways recommends a specific flight (outlined below) which has a flight leader escorting students from Newark, NJ to Cluj Napoca, Romania.

The escorted flight is:

OUTBOUND:
LH 7608 - Departs EWR (Newark) on Tuesday at 17.30PM, arrives in MUC (Munich, Germany) on Wednesday at 7.40AM
LH 1670 - Departs MUC (Munich) on Wed. at 9.25AM, arrives in CLJ (Cluj Napoca, Romania) on Wed. at 12.00PM

INBOUND:
LH 1671 - Departs CLJ (Cluj Napoca) on Thursday at 12.55PM, arrives in MUC (Munich) on Thursday at 13.35PM
LH 412 - Departs MUC (Munich) on Thursday at 15.20PM, arrives in EWR (Newark) on Thursday at 18.20PM

If you do not wish to travel on our escorted flight, you will need to meet the arrival/departure requirements of the program.

These requirements are:
Students should arrive into Cluj Napoca, Romania (CLJ) on Wed. between 10am – 2pm and should leave for the USA on Thu. between 10am and 2pm on the return date. If they arrive or depart outside of this window, a transportation fee will be incurred (each way).

Note that all layovers must be at least 1 hour 30 mins long. It is very IMPORTANT to give yourself enough time to catch your connecting flight.

Please email us a copy of your flight itinerary as soon as it is available. This will ensure that we have sufficient information for your departures and arrivals.

Our Programs are Designed to be Combined!

Almost all Rustic Pathways programs interconnect! Many of our students take advantage of this by combining several programs – and often several countries – to build their perfect summer. Most programs have numerous departure dates which allow students the flexibility to travel at their convenience. Safe Arrival Emails

Within 12 hours of students reaching their program destinations, a safe arrival email is sent to their parents confirming the students' safe arrival overseas. Just one more way that we try to increase transparency and help you understand that your son or daughter is just as important to us as he/she is to you.

About International Travel Costs

The airfares listed on the country pages are estimates only, and all airfares are subject to change without notice. Late applicants are sometimes unable to secure seats on our group flights or obtain the airfares indicated here. All airfares are subject to taxes, airport fees and fuel surcharges which vary according to airline and destination, and which are beyond our control. Rustic Pathways reserves the right to pass along any increases in these costs should this become necessary.

Checking Your Luggage

All students not beginning their journey in Los Angeles, San Francisco or New York must pick up their bags from their domestic flights and recheck them for our international group flights. Please allow yourself enough time to pick up and check in your bags to our international group flights.
