Rustic Pathways uses Singapore Airlines for our escorted flights from the USA to Singapore, our Asian airline hub. You then travel onwards from Singapore to your final destination in Laos.

| Visa Requirements: | Participants traveling to Laos will be billed the $45 visa fee on their trip invoice allowing Rustic staff to easily obtain visas on arrival for all students at the border. Students DO need to bring four passport size photos with them to obtain their visa upon arrival. You do NOT need to obtain a Laos visa prior to leaving the USA - you can do it when you arrive in Laos! Students who are not traveling on a US passport should check online for their visa requirements. | |

Almost all Rustic Pathways programs interconnect! Many of our students take advantage of this by combining several programs – and often several countries - to build their perfect summer. Most programs have numerous departure dates which allow students the flexibility to travel at their convenience. All programs in Laos connect seamlessly with programs in Thailand.
Please note that we do not currently offer flight quotes for programs in the South Pacific (Australia, Fiji and New Zealand) and Mongolia because of scheduling conflicts. Instead, we highly recommend scheduling your South Pacific or Mongolia programs first and then connect to Laos. Otherwise, you will most likely miss a minimum of one (1) full program day due to travel times.

We have tried our hardest to have a staff member on every flight; however, on short, non-stop flights there may not always be a flight leader. In these cases, students are always checked-in for their international flight by a Rustic Pathways staff member and met by a staff member upon arrival and after clearing customs.
Specifically, students traveling to Laos leave Los Angeles or New York on our escorted group flight to Thailand and then connect from Thailand to Laos. While all of our international flights from the USA are escorted, please note that some our flights within Mainland Asia may not be escorted flights.
All of our Escorted Group Flights are on Singapore Airlines, the finest airline servicing Asia. We are proud to offer our students flights on this legendary carrier, making the voyage as smooth as possible.
The airfares listed on the country pages are estimates only, and all airfares are subject to change without notice. Late applicants are sometimes unable to secure seats on our group flights or obtain the airfares indicated here. All airfares are subject to taxes, airport fees and fuel surcharges which vary according to airline and destination, and which are beyond our control. Rustic Pathways reserves the right to pass along any increases in these costs should this become necessary.
Students traveling to Laos are responsible for getting to Los Angeles or New York on their own. Due to frequent domestic airline delays pertaining to weather or mechanical problems, we require that you arrive at your gateway city at least 4 hours prior to the departure of the group flight.
All students not beginning their journey in Los Angeles or New York must pick up their bags from their domestic flights and recheck them for our international group flights. Please allow yourself enough time to pick up and check in your bags to our international group flights.
