Our airline contracts for summer 2010 travel to Africa will not be finalised until late October 2009. This is normal policy with the airlines who will not provide firm pricing for group seats to Africa this far ahead of time.

If you apply for an Africa program duriing our Early Bird or Star Alumni sign up period, you will be billed an estimated airfare cost for your air travel and taxes, as well as any anticipated fuel surcharge cost. We will then revise your airline billing for your international flights once our African airline contracts are in place.

In general Rustic Pathways uses KLM & Northwest Airlines for our primary flights to Tanzania. These airlines operate in partnership and provide the most convenient schedules to the destinations we visit in Tanzania.

For students traveling to South Africa, Namibia, and Botswana, we generally use South African Airlines for our international group travel to the USA.

As always, airfare costs are subject to change and tend to vary with the cost of fuel, and Rustic Pathways reserves the right to amend your airline costs to reflect changes imposed by the airlines.

For further questions about flights to Africa, please email africa@rusticpathways.com.

Contact our office for information about airfare arrangements for Africa as this information was not available at the time of printing.

Participants traveling to Africa on a US passport will need $100USD to obtain a visa upon arrival in Tanzania. Students who are not traveling on a US passport should check online for their visa requirements.
