RUSTIC PATHWAYS IN CAMBODIA
Rustic Pathways began running programs in Cambodia in 1999. Since then, our operations here have grown to include local headquarters in Phnom Penh, year-round operations and a Base in Kampong Cham, and seven full-time Cambodian staff members. We run high school, college and Gap programs, as well as group and family travel throughout the year.
AIRLINE INFORMATION and PROGRAM CONNECTIVITY
Rustic Pathways offers weekly escorted flights from both New York and Los Angeles to Southeast Asia throughout the summer for students on our high school programs. Students from around the United States meet in either NYC or LA and travel together with their flight leader to and from Asia. Please see rusticpathways.com/flights for complete information about air travel. Our programs in Cambodia connect directly with all Rustic Pathways programs in Thailand, Laos, Burma, Vietnam, China, Mongolia, and India.

DID YOU KNOW?
Roughly the size of Oklahoma, Cambodia has bountiful natural resources and a rich cultural tradition. Despite its tragic recent history – an estimated two-thirds of the population died at the hands of the Khmer Rouge during the '70s and '80s – the country has landed firmly on the path to democracy and development. While it remains one of the poorest nations in Southeast Asia, its economy has been one of the fastest growing over the past several years. The Angkor temples have helped draw tourists, in turn bringing in international NGOs and aid organizations. Angkor Wat, the zenith of the country's many temples, is featured on the Cambodian flag, which is the only flag in the world to feature a building.
